Global Flair in a Cozy Neighborhood Spot

Sometimes you’re in the mood for sophisticated destination dining, and sometimes you crave a cozy neighborhood spot that also happens to have great food.

Chef Manuel Romero and Olea restaurant have perfected the destination dining experience—delicious, artistic and beautiful, but also comfortable and welcoming—at their acclaimed Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant in downtown New Haven. It’s consistently named one of the best Spanish restaurants in the entire New York tri-state area on OpenTable.

To complete the fine dining equation, the Olea team has opened Kala, a neighborhood bistro with a friendly, casual vibe and cuisine that elevates comfort food to a new level with global flavors inspired by the best cuisines of the world, and the freshest ingredients sourced locally and from around New England.

Kala is located in a vibrant neighborhood of North Haven, close to both Hamden and New Haven—and the hope is that it also becomes a destination bistro for an extended “neighborhood” in Connecticut. The location will make that easy, as Kala is just off exit 61 of the Wilbur Cross Parkway, and also conveniently accessed from I-91. Plus there is ample free parking in the attached lot.
